South Tyrol - land of flavours and traditions

South Tyrol is a region wich is deeply bounded to its customs and traditions. Unblemished nature, the meeting of different cultures and the enviable position on the sunny side of Alps are characteristics turning this area into a magic land. It's the land of Dolomites, of the modern ski resorts, thermal spas, fine wines and the exquisite hospitality of its inhabitants.

As varied as the landscape is also South Tyrolean Culture. You will experience very nice art expressions, traditions, customs as well as the excellent culinary art, which changes from valley to valley and according to seasons. Customs, colours and traditions which are still alive and are signs of a never forgotten past. Just take part in one of the numerous historic-cultural events...to revive old habits and feelings.
Over this pages you will find a special gastronomic and cultural fil rouge, running through the South Tyrolean past, flavours and culinary plasures: you will discover typical cheeses, homemade bread, soups and meat dishes as well as traditional main courses and irresistable desserts.

The best known amongst traditional products is of course, the Speck Alto Adige IGP - a juniper-flavored ham, lightly smoked and unmistakable for aspect, scent and flavour. Followed by the classic Apple Strudel, prepared according to the traditional receipt, asparagus, the wine, chestnuts and the delicious bread. Things which once have been produced and cultivated by necessity are now considered as cultural heritage. Typical, natural, tasty.
